February 11 Update
We started off by signing a tentative agreement on the Separability article. Then, a UAOU Bargaining Team member made a statement about trust on behalf of the team. We wanted to communicate to the Administration that trust between Administration and OU faculty has been eroded. We provided suggestions for rebuilding trust through greater openness, timely responses, and clear written counterproposals, which are essential to a productive and timely process. While the Administration had no immediate response, they requested a caucus, and the rest of the day was productive.
Given that it has now been over 100 days since UAOU presented our Compensation and Benefits proposals, we asked the administration when we could expect a compensation counterproposal. We still received no clear commitment.
In more productive news, the Administration gave us counterproposals to our articles on Purpose, Personnel Records, Union Access to Information and Facilities, and Outside Work and Activities. The Purpose, Personnel Records, and Union Access to Information and Facilities proposals were introduced by UAOU on August 4, 2025. The Outside Work and Activities proposal was introduced on December 17, 2025.
We reached a tentative agreement on the Purpose article and have agreement in principle on Union Access to Information and Facilities, but need to finalize some details. We will be working on a counter for the Outside Work and Activities article and the Administration will be coming with another counter on the Personnel article, based on our collective conversation.
Our next scheduled negotiating date is February 25 from 10:30-5:00.
