April 29 Update
HERE IS THE REPORT FROM THE TABLE TEAM ABOUT NEGOTIATIONS ON APRIL 29
Today’s bargaining session was held at the Ridges. The Administration team has proposed that we continue to meet at the Ridges, and only meet for half-days, asserting that no other buildings on the main part of campus has room availability. We recognize that flexibility is needed at times, but we are concerned this change in venue further renders the process less visibleobscures the process for the people it affects the most: faculty and students.
The Administration team gave us their counter proposal on Union Rights, which we originally submitted on August 27.
We discussed the status of other outstanding counter proposals, both at the table and at our respective private caucuses, iIncluding Non Discrimination, Dues Deduction, Management Rights, Entire Agreement, and Union Rights. We believe we are close to concluding the negotiation on many of these, which will allow us to get to higher priority issues in the near future. The Administration said that they would be working on a counterproposal ato the Disciplinary Actions article.
The Administration team brought back a counter to the Entire Agreement proposal. This article will define issues that can potentially be negotiated after a contract is agreed and before the next one is bargained.
Our next scheduled negotiating date is May 13 (1pm-5pm) at the Ridges.
