Request a UAOU Steward
Questions about your rights? Concerned about a workplace issue? Need someone to talk through a situation?
A UAOU steward is a trained faculty representative who can help you understand your rights, answer questions about the union and our contract, and connect you with the resources you need.
You do not have to navigate workplace issues alone.
A Steward Can Help With
Stewards can provide guidance on a variety of workplace concerns, including:
Questions about the collective bargaining agreement
Workplace concerns or disputes
Potential contract violations
Department or college-specific issues
Questions about university policies or procedures
Preparing for meetings with supervisors
Connecting you with additional union resources when needed
If your issue requires assistance beyond what a steward can provide, they will help connect you with the appropriate UAOU representative.
When Should I Contact a Steward?
You should reach out if:
You're unsure about your rights as a faculty member.
You believe the contract may not be being followed.
You've been asked to attend a meeting that concerns your employment.
You're experiencing a workplace problem and aren't sure what to do next.
You simply have questions about the union or your workplace.
It's always better to ask questions early rather than wait until a problem grows.
